This Is Our Story

Knowle Meadow has been years in the making. We wanted to establish a family-run rural retreat with a focus upon nature, wellness and luxury in the Somerset countryside.

We have always loved camping as a family, and relish being outside. We have created a campsite for all; from seasoned campers who wish to stay in their own tent or campervan, to those who wish to try camping for the first time, with hotel-like facilities and luxurious glamping accommodation. 

Central to our vision was to provide high-end facilities, superb showers, glorious washrooms and the opportunity for all guests to feel reinvigorated by a Scandinavian sauna. 





Nature. We wanted to enhance and support nature, and have developed three wildflower meadows. 





Sustainability. We do not take for granted the nature which engulfs and enriches Knowle Meadow, and our responsibility to it. We have really given it some thought. Our state of the art water-treatment system ensures that all waste water is treated on site and achieves phosphate neutrality, to limit our impact upon the environment. We provide bamboo toilet paper and environmentally friendly soaps, use eco-friendly cleaning liquids, and encourage all guests to recycle. When it comes to the facilities, we have constructed the facilities block without concrete, and the handcrafted sauna and hot tub are made from fully sustainable and traceable materials. 





Knowle Meadow is lucky to be so close to so many beautiful places, superb culture, delicious food and drink. It's our favourite topic, so please ask any questions.

 

Having now completed our first season, we are delighted to have won GOLD for the New Tourism Business of the Year 2024/25 and SILVER for Campsite of the Year 2024/25 in the prestigious Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards.
